So...my writing process...there are questions!
1) What am I working on? Right now I'm working on a self pub project. My first. It's super scary in some ways. But not as bad as I really thought :) This book is a M/M Para Erotic Romance with some others for Valentine's Day. Here's the cover. Fallen angel/ex demon hotness :)
2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
That's hard to answer. I write erotic romance in a few subgenres. Mostly big ménage (MMMF or more men ) and MM. Some shifters. Contemporary mostly. I have written MF as well.
My pacing is quick, stories are hot, and I never run out of ideas...I tend to like novellas.
3) Why do I write what I do?
I write because I'd be insane if I didn't...
I write erotic romance, because sex is something that women are taught to be ashamed of enjoying. Men get a pass, it's expected. Even as teens, they have magazines under the bed and 'boys will be boys' but society seems to try and control female sexuality so much more.
I survived Catholic school...which I think gave me that urge to rebel. We're expected to be naughty:)
So whether it's one woman who has 3-4 men to pleasure her OR M/M hotness, which women love as well (hey, men love watching two women together. I don't want to undermine men, I love them. I just want fairness in sexual enjoyment and outlets.)
Did that answer the question? I like writing sex too :D
4) How does your writing process work?
Open Word...have coffee...
Okay, seriously...there is coffee! I'm a morning person. If I can get writing before my brain is distracted by dumb things like the news or chatting...I can plug into the muse and write 5k before noon.
So coffee, laptop, write. I do plan out my ideas. I try to have characters fleshed out and a basic plot sketched out. Very minimal chapter notes so I can be flexible but know with the midpoint and black moments are so the basics stay on point. My goal is to write 5k a day on writing days. Then there are days of edits/line edits/forms for covers and blurbs.
So it's a bit of a juggling process and then days in the writing cave...
Thanks for hopping...who's next??
Megan Slayer: When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.
When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite--on command.
She also masquerades under the name Wendi Zwaduk and is published through Changeling Press, Decadent Publishing , Liquid Silver Books, MLR Press, Resplendence Publishing, and Total-E-Bound Publishing.
